Harlaxton College is a single semester study abroad program for American students.  The campus is owned by the University of Evansville and students from all over the United States study at Harlaxton College.  Recently voted amongst the 'Top 25' study abroad programs, it is committed to providing its 175 students each semester with a unique academic and cultural learning experience.  It is a registered charity occupying a Grade 1 listed Victorian manor house and allied buildings, situated within 117 acres of gardens, park and woodland.  In addition to its academic responsibilities, the College also utilizes its home, Harlaxton Manor, by hosting local and international conferences and events, and as a venue for use by others.

Through participation in an integrated community of learners at every level--students, faculty, staff--to teach our students at every moment of every day, so that their formal educational experiences, their student life experiences, their living environments in and out of the Manor, their travel, all contribute in an intentional, energizing, exciting way to the wholeness of their learning in The Harlaxton Experience.

Goals

From our Vision Statement comes four straightforward and important goals providing a focus for our planning and our day-to-day activities. All that we do, as members of Harlaxton College, in some way contributes to one or more of these goals.

1. The Harlaxton Experience 

Our goal is to create a non-stop, round-the-clock, integrated, intensive learning for our students --making The Harlaxton Experience a time of learning second to none, anywhere, anytime in their lives.  This means the best teaching, the best physical environment, the best academic resources, and the best student life programs that we can possibly provide.  Academic standards and expectations are very high in the Harlaxton semester program. 

2. Harlaxton Endeavour

Our goal is to create and maintain an energizing and rewarding place for faculty and staff to teach and to work.  We seek high standards from our staff and offer an enriching and encouraging environment. 

3. The Harlaxton Hospitality 

Our goal is to be welcoming and hospitable.  Our students and academic program come first, without question. Beyond this priority, we seek to be open to our community and to provide thoughtful and interesting opportunities through lectures, concerts, and other events. 

4. The Harlaxton Heritage

Our goal is to take care of and to improve our historic and unique buildings and gardens.  The Manor buildings themselves, and our gardens and grounds, are our most important single teacher--students are learning from them every day.   We hold this place in trust for the generations of people who created it and for those who will honor it and enjoy it in the decades ahead.
