Why Travel?
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain
Mark Twain was correct. Indeed, travel is all that and much more. One of the goals of study abroad is to prepare you to be more effective, respectful of other cultures, and to better understand your own culture and values. Travel has a lasting impact on world view, self-confidence, and maturity. This experience will be life-transforming, as the Harlaxton Experience will continue to influence your lives long after your time with us.
Travelling not only teaches you about other cultures, but it also teaches you more about yourself and your own culture. After all, only from the outside can you look back in. Where will your travels take you and what will you see?
At Harlaxton College, we believe in the importance of travel. Incorporating travel experience and academic work supports our belief that we are “Learning: All Together”.
